Eco-Friendly Living on the Trail: A Pacific Northwest Active Mom's Guide

The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful and exciting place to live if you love the outdoors. It also requires a delicate balance between the daily routines and outdoor activities. I know because I’m a nature lover and also a mom of three.

Hikes in the mountains and bike rides through the forest are a big part of our lives. My kids spend a lot of time outside and it can be a strain on the household. Not only that, but our lifestyle can also severely affect the environment if we are not mindful.

Laundry is one thing few people think of in this context. The more time we spend outside, the more dirty laundry we need to wash. But conventional laundry detergents are damaging to the environment. That’s why it’s important to use eco-friendly products such as Purecise laundry sheets to prevent that. What I like about this product is the efficiency and convenience of using them even on the go.

How I use eco-friendly laundry sheets in outdoor activities

So, a few weeks ago our family went on a camping adventure in the beautiful Cascades. We packed our camping gear and backpacks and set out for a long weekend. We took the least clothing necessary. After setting up camp near a creek, we hit the trails for a hike through the forest. When we reached a spot with breathtaking scenery, we paused few minutes and let the children play. My youngest son slipped near the water and came out completely covered in mud.

We eventually went back to our campsite to get him clean and dry. And the clothes? Good thing I always pack Purecise laundry sheets on our trips. They hardly take up any space, are very easy to use and don’t leave any waste when used.

They’re also biodegradable, which means they won’t harm the environment or wildlife in the area. I added a sheet to a basin of pure river water and let it dissolve. Next, I added my son’s clothes, gently agitated them, and let them soak for a few minutes. The plant-based detergent sheet removed all the dirt and grime which are also hypoallergenic and kind to the skin. Afterwards, I hung them up to dry overnight. The next morning, we were ready to hit the trails again, with my son’s clothing cleaned and smelling fresh.

Using natural detergent sheets helps preserve the beauty of the Pacific Northwest

It may seem like a small step, but it can make a big impact on the environment. When our family goes on an outing, we also bring reusable water bottles and food containers, avoiding using any chemicals to preserve the pristine beauty of the mountains. These should be innate for loving moms who can do for herself, her children, and the environment.

The Pacific Northwest is a unique and gorgeous region in North America. It's a very popular destination for hikers, bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. We need to do everything we can to preserve its natural beauty, so future generations can enjoy it too. Knowing that we’re doing our part to protect nature in all its beauty brings a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

So, next time you head out for an outdoor adventure, pack your Purecise laundry detergent sheets, and enjoy the great outdoors to the fullest. If we want our grandchildren to still do the same, we can start with a small activity of washing some clothes on a camping trip, even those chores have a lasting impact.
